Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 March 2026
Tuck is a browser extension made by Luminous Design Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what data Tuck handles and how.
The short version: Tuck does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data outside your browser. Everything stays on your device.
1. What data Tuck stores
Tuck saves the following information locally in your browser using the browser's built-in storage (chrome.storage.local or equivalent):
- Snoozed tabs — page URL, title, favicon URL, scheduled wake time, and any optional note you add.
- Auto-closed tabs — page URL, title, favicon URL, and the time the tab was closed.
- Settings — your auto-close threshold, whitelisted domains, and preferences.
- Tab activity timestamps — when each open tab was last accessed, used to determine idle tabs for auto-close. These are cleared when tabs are closed.
This data is stored only on your device, in the browser profile where Tuck is installed. It is never sent to us or any third party.
2. What data Tuck does not collect
- No personal information (name, email, location).
- No browsing history beyond what is needed for snoozed and auto-closed tabs.
- No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking.
- No cookies or tracking pixels.
- No data is transmitted to any server.
3. License verification
Tuck for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge requires a license key purchased through our website. When you activate your license, the extension may communicate with a third-party payment provider solely to verify your license key. This verification does not include any browsing data, tab information, or personal data beyond what is required for the transaction (such as the license key itself).
Tuck for Safari is purchased through the Mac App Store and does not require separate license verification.
4. Browser permissions
Tuck requests the following browser permissions:
- tabs — to read tab URLs and titles for snoozing and auto-close functionality.
- alarms — to schedule snoozed tab wake-ups.
- storage — to save your snoozed tabs, auto-closed tabs, and settings locally.
- contextMenus — to add the "Snooze this tab" option to your right-click menu.
- idle — to detect when you return to your computer after a period of inactivity, so Tuck can reconcile any overdue snoozed tabs (Chrome and Firefox only).
These permissions are used exclusively for Tuck's core functionality. No data accessed through these permissions is transmitted outside your browser.
5. Third-party services
Tuck does not integrate with or send data to any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-processing services. The only external communication is license key verification as described in section 3.
6. Data retention and deletion
All data is stored locally in your browser. You can delete it at any time by:
- Clearing individual items within the Tuck popup (snoozed tabs, auto-closed tabs).
- Clearing the extension's storage through your browser's settings.
- Uninstalling the extension, which removes all stored data.
We have no access to your data and cannot delete it on your behalf, because we never receive it in the first place.
7. Children's privacy
Tuck does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since no personal data is collected or transmitted, there is no data to process.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where practical, note the changes in the extension's changelog.
